The Eaves
Teapoy Design / Junior Project @ National Taipei University of Education / Instructor: De-An Lin / Co-creator: Sheng-Zhe Chang
The form of this design integrates the outline of traditional roofs’ figure into the teapoy. The curve on both edges is inspired by “Swallowtail”, a form of traditional roof style, which represent luck. Both sides of the teapoy can be pulled out, just like the extension of the eaves, which gives users extra space to place more items, moreover, this has the same meaning as the traditional construction “Hu-Long”- to build more spaces for the increasing family members. “The Eaves” is not only the inheritance of Taiwanese peoples’ memories, but also adds extra functions to the furniture.
